23 before I turn 23
- Have a reiki treatment
- Eat nothing but fruit for three days (it's a real thing, I'm not being ridiculous)
- Try acupuncture/acupressure
- Bike commute to work/grad school/wherever at least a few times
- Make Indian food from scratch (chana masala mmmmm.)
- Pay anonymously for the stranger's drink behind me in the Starbucks drive-thru (people used to do this when I worked at Starbucks, and it melted my heart. I love people.)
- Watch When Harry Met Sally (oops. never seen it.)
- Take a road trip
- Camp. Or sleep under the stars, even if it has to be on my balcony.
- Greet the sunrise outside with sun salutations & my favorite yoga practice. Preferably at the lake, but anywhere where the sun is and I am is good enough for me.
- Have a dressy dinner party with friends that looks fancy on the outside but is goofy on the inside.
- Go to a wine tasting, for the love of pete. Shouldn't I have done this by now?
- Make pasta from scratch
- Launch the new blog (wait, what?! I know! More details to come :))
- Write a short story
- Build a little nest-egg in my savings account
- Say YES more. (yes to love! yes to life! yes to staying in more! Liz Lemon, anyone? ;))
- Learn all the words to Ice, Ice, Baby
- Cook something intimidating, like a roast of some sort. Or a souffle. Or a whole chicken. Anything but live lobster.
- Read Anne of Green Gables (I never finished it when I was an itty bitty. Whoops!)
- Knit myself hedgehog mittens
- Create a fancy-pants recipe of all my own making. Not just throwing random stuff together (which, admittedly, usually works deliciously), but actually create a dish that I can stamp my name on as my very own, thankyouverymuch.
- Make every breath I take be a prayer of love + gratitude. Be aware, consciously, of my blessings at least once every single day.
Here's to twenty-wahoo :)

Happy birthday!!
ReplyDeleteOne of these may help with your indian food cooking goal. I've made both, and they were delicious!!

Happy Birthday, Mary! Golly, I'm so jealous of your list...mostly because it seems like you live life to the fulliest that you possibly can and you're always willing to do more. Sometimes I feel trapped and like I can't start doing all of these amazing things because I'm still in high school in a small town. Hopefully when I get to college I can create a wonderful, daring list like you!
ReplyDeleteHappy birthday! You look beautiful!
ReplyDeleteI love your 23 things!! I just borrowed Anne of Green Gables from the library yesterday. I'm going to start it today :)
Can't wait to hear more about the new blog!!
Happy Birthday! This is a great list. You should try roasting a whole chicken. After you try it once, it really isn't that intimidating.
ReplyDeleteHappy birthday! A fruit cleanse is so much fun, I have done it several times and I never once felt deprived! Just stock up on a vast assortment of fruits!!
