Summer, you fickle little be-yatch.
Sorry, guys. I'm a little upset with summer in the midwest this year. Oh, what's that? 90 degrees and snow in the same week? (thanks a LOT, spring in Minneapolis). Or a high of 102 one week and a high of 42 the next? LAME.
Last summer was glorious. I spent 90% of the time in a sundress, on a beach (or wishing I were), eating frozen custard and dancing around in a heat-induced delirium. Like I said. Glorious.
This summer, I've equalled worn out my flow-y jersey skirts as well as my toasty zip-up fleece. What the what is the deal with that? When I took these photos, it was the hottest day of the summer so far. My super-sweet pixelated flower skirt from goodwill was put to excellent use as I dock-hopped around the local marina trying to convince yachters to take me sailin' on beautiful Lake Michigan. (I kid. Kinda.)
Lesson learned: don't complain about the weather in Wisconsin, or it will violently drop 50 degrees overnight and you'll be wearing tights and boots in June. Also, don't try to hitch a ride on a stranger's boat. It's probably not going to fly. (wait, what?)
What is your favorite warm-weather gear? Or, in my case, what's your favorite way to wear tights + scarves in June? ;)

I haven't gotten much use out of my summer clothes yet. I hope it gets warmer soon!
ReplyDeleteOh, summer here in Ohio has been rather fickle too! Last week when I was in school it was 95 degrees and just awful... Now that I'm out of school and can wear cooler clothing and go to the pool, it hardly hits 70! Humph!
ReplyDeleteYeah, WTF SUMMER?
ReplyDeleteHowever, you look fantastic. I love your summer style. :)
